Teaching in Another World: SK Salong (Part II)

Where were we? Erm memory shortage. Getting older...

Yeah! I was in the middle of forest, and using HILUX traveled to the school. About 45 minutes travelling on the rock road. Across the mountains, across the rivers, it was like I'm going for an adventure! My friend even hit her head on the window several times. haha
If you have to go for teaching like this everyday, how'd u think?

Finally, I've reached the destination.
But, there was still one more challenge to go before I can have a good rest. With 1 hand-carry mini luggage, and 1 backpack, I've to across a wide river by CANOPY BRIDGE! And it was really long!!! I thought I'll be fine at first, but when I stood on it, I noticed it wasn't that safe as I thought!

See the bridge behind me? The school is on the end of this bridge.

The view of village from another side.
Enough at the moment, gonna go for nap first. Hehe... Check it out for PART III!

Teaching in Another World: SK Salong (Part I)

The TESLians went to another primary school again. It's 3 hours from my beloved institute. My institute can already consider as rural area. But this place is even further and further and almost come to the border of Malaysia-Indonesia.

Welcome to SK Salong, Pensiangan, Sabah!
Date: 1st - 2nd July 2010
Event: English Reading Program by TESL Students of IPG Keningau Campus

Why I said another world? Because there's totally no phone coverage over there. But I heard the school is equipped with WiFi. I didn't bring my laptop, can't try it. Neither my phone charger.  Because there'll be no electricity at night.

1st July 9am, we off to our destination by bus
(around 2 hours)
In the bus

Stop awhile at Nabawan town, a small town, for excretion, lol
View of Nabawan town

After 2 hours, about 11am, we arrived at the transportation-switching point. The teachers from the school drove out to pick us. 5 four-wheels HILUX waiting for us there, the bus can't fetch us through the journey after that. There were still 45 minutes to travel. But I was in the middle of the forest already. Surrounded by big trees and river. Wondering what place I'm going. (O.o)

Bus and HILUX that I used

Hehe... Check it out on my next post to see what kind of road I was travelling before reaching the school. ^_^

Brand New Sem; Brand New Life??

My new semester... THIRD and FINAL SEMESTER of my FOUNDATION

Almost a year I've been here. But day by day, the feeling of wanna fly home grows stronger. I WANNA CHANGE MY INSTITUTE!!!! I'd like to go to IPG Batu Lintang, can I?

Why I can't fall in love with my IPG Keningau? I think neither one of the students here will say "I love this campus." Not that I say everyone hate it but...

Okay let's see the survey that I've done, most of them will say:
  1. Don't have any entertainment activity to be done in the Keningau town.
  2. High-costly food. (Here means according to the budget of each student.)
  3. Weak strength of WiFi Wireless of the institute. Sometime even can't access anything, not to mention that they've blocked a lot of media stream. I mean, we could get some extra info for our assignment in the site likes Youtube right?
  4. Difference management from the other institute. (No right to complain about that at the moment although it is a fact.)
  5. Lack of reading sources in the Library. (For specific subjects exclude BM materials)
  6. Either blackout or water shortage or BOTH once in few weeks.
THEY can express such feelings but I would like to say something here, not to defense for the institute itself, but I just wanna be justice.
IPG Keningau is an institute specifically train for those teachers who will be sent to rural areas.
If you applied for it, that's mean you are ready to face it.
If you accepted the offer and wanted to be one of the member in IPG Keningau, that's mean you are ready for the rural schools.
How could you expect there's such a HEAVEN place in rural areas? You might face all the conditions mentioned above. So, train yourself from now!

>>P.S. Somehow I feel the same things with what others said. ;p lol.. peace! ^_^

Before I conclude my post, again, congratulations to Nurhazwani Nozari @ Macbeth to be the class monitor for this semester! Happy cooperation for another 6  months!

I said: I L.O.V.E, but I H.A.T.E too

I know I'm rude when I saying it, but, GET LOSTWell I can be very bad, don't be surprised about that. I'm not angel am I? Neither demon I am.

I can be friend with you.

I can be very closed to you.

And if I treat you nicely, then you think I'm a kind lovely small kid?

Sorry guy, means that YOU haven't know who is Mr Geoffrey. I keep silent, doesn't mean I agree with you. You can be my friends, you can be my buddy, you can be my boss, but you can be my PET too.

My principle: I treat you twice more than you treat me.

Want me to treat you good? No problem. ^_^
Want me to curse you? Not a problem even. ^O^

P.S. No offense to anyone. Just for your reference. If next time need to paste it in your place, don't forget to add in the bibliography.

Pleasant night!
